Boston’s Run To Remember announces that is has received approval from the State of Massachusetts to incorporate Memorial Drive in the 2006 race course. The use of Memorial Drive will eliminate the South Boston portion of the 2005 race course which although it was a great venue, was not able to handle the growth this event was experiencing.
An integral part of the 2006 race route will still incorporate the historic viewing of downtown Boston. From Boston Common, Faneuil Hall, Government Center, the Financial District, to Post Office Square and more, runners will be taken on a truly amazing route throughout the City.
For those venturing out on the half marathon, after their tour of Boston they will head over the Longfellow Bridge and out along Memorial Drive towards Harvard University where they will then run back along Memorial Drive, over the Longfellow Bridge and back to the World Trade Center to finish.
Race organizers are extremely excited about this opportunity. “From Its stunning views to historical significance, Memorial Drive is the perfect addition to the 2006 race course. This new course will easily accommodate the growth the event is experiencing while maximizing its ability to raise much needed funds for Kids At Risk programs throughout the City of Boston” said race director Tony Pallotta.
Boston’s Run To Remember is a half marathon and 5-mile race being held at the Seaport World Trade Center Boston on March 11-12, 2006. Proceeds of the event benefit the Boston Police Foundation’s Kids At Risk Programs supporting Boston’s area youths. All inquiries into this event can be directed to info@bostonsruntoremember.org.
